The WidUs Program

University students will compete against each other to create the best business oriented widget. Widgets may have any function that is useful in the workplace. WidUs is a Social Networking Site (SNS) based competition. The entire event will take place through online media.

WidUs has been designed to give MCA, 3rd and 4th year university student´s direct access to the IT industry. The program allows student´s individual attention and feedback from KPIT Cummins. Programmers will review the widgets and comment on how code and interface designs can be improved. Employees from various departments of KPIT Cummins will comment on how widgets can be improved from the business perspective.

Prize Details

• After August 10th 2009 WidUs winners will be invited to KPIT Cummins for the WidUs Leadership Conference. During the conference WidUs winners will meet with KPIT Cummins CEO and members of the leadership team for tea and refreshments. Students will have the unique opportunity to discuss current issues concerning the IT industry with the leaders of KPIT Cummins. There will also be an open Question and Answer session in which specific interests will be addressed. From this experience students will gain a deeper understanding of the IT industry, how corporations like KPIT Cummins function in addition to personal insights from the CEO and leadership team of KPIT Cummins.
• Each WidUs program winner will receive a certificate listing the ranking achieved. Certificates will be presented to WidUs winners during the WidUs Leadership Conference.
• WidUs winners will be interviewed about their widget, goals and experience at KPIT Cummins. The interviews will be featured on the CEO Blog, website, Facebook, Twitter, KPIT Cummins monthly newsletter and internal blog.
• WidUs winner´s widgets will be available for download on all KPIT Cummins online mediums.
