Building sustainability into the core of our organization is of critical importance to us, not an idealistic illusion.

Interdependence as a foundation for sustainability has been our philosophy since our origin and continues to guide our actions, as we strive to create a common force to deliver excellence in all our endeavors.

We believe that as a company we are responsible not only for our own well-being, but also for the well-being of our ecosystem. Our commitment to the environment and our social initiatives in urban development are as strong as our business accomplishments, and we constantly evaluate and improve our CSR initiatives through metrics.

The Guiding principles that define our CSR Policy are:

  • We believe that as a mature organization it is our responsibility to give back to our internal and external ecosystem.
  • Our CSR initiatives are not restricted to the contribution of funds. We necessarily involve the energies and efforts of our people; we aim at achieving an employee involvement which is equal to or greater than 1.5 times of our employee strength.
  • We leverage our expertise in the IT domain in order to contribute to our CSR initiatives. This helps us add maximum possible value as we empower and enable our ecosystem.
  • We ensure that a large part of our efforts is concentrated on a single initiative, so that our significant contribution ensures that we make a big difference.
  • Each of our initiatives is aimed at benefiting our ecosystem at large; we are not limited by geographical boundaries.

Our CSR initiatives are in alignment with our corporate values; we contribute our time, energy and passion to create a lasting positive impact.

  • 'Say No to Plastic': In collaboration with an NGO called Green Peace, a Paper Bag Making Demo was arranged for all our colleagues at their workplace. The purpose was to encourage the use of eco-friendly bags.
  • Tree Plantation: Our senior leadership team actively participated to kick start the 'Sacred Forest Project' at a school. 50 saplings were planted in the school premises. The survival rate of the saplings is 100% till date.
  • As a part of our 'Go Green' initiative, our people inaugurated the 'Nakshtra Garden' project at a local school in Pune, India. The garden's theme is based on 'Man, Mythology, Science and Environment' and provides knowledge as well as a green pocket in the school premises.
  • We are nurturing more than 100 trees over the past 2 years.
  • We partner with an NGO called Janwani that focuses on urban development. We developed an online "GIS Based Accident Reporting System". This system has been designed to help the Traffic Police Department enter all relevant details of an accident including exact location in the city. This application has in operation since July 2009.
  • In collaboration with Janwani, we developed a web-based application for the participatory budget of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in November 2009. This application helps citizens register their suggestions without having to visit the ward office.

Other Initiatives:

  • We have worked in close collaboration with various NGOs for the past 3 years. We support the 'School Kit Donation Drive' in Maharashtra; education of underprivileged children from North-East India; and are also associated with the 'Teach for India' program.
  • Our people anchor Study Circles for slum children on weekends. We have also undertaken other activities like educating these children about various career options, value education, etc.
