KPIT Cummins is the Co-sponsor for this year’s Automotive R&D Trends 2015 conference. This one day conference is organized by Tamil Nadu Technology Development & Promotion Center of CII in partnership with Australian Trade to be held on February 27, 2012 at the Hilton Hotel, Chennai, India.

This initiative would help explore opportunities for joint technology development, identify new business areas for technology development and transfer commercially available off-the-shelf scalable technologies from academic institutes, research laboratories and industries in active collaboration with Australian research labs & Industries, exchange programs and industry – institutional partnerships.

Topic: Staying Connected – From Driver Assistance to Customer Assistance Systems

The talk will pose a series of thoughts on why Driving Assistance systems are the need of the day in light of Indian Driving Characteristics and Infrastructure. The session will also address a different perspective on Driver Assistance Systems and how organizations will need to look at assisting every occupant of the car. The emergence of Smartphone’s as an affordable and accepted communication device and the ability to integrate it with the Driver assistance ecosystem will be presented.

Effective management of assets is difficult task. A smoothly working asset / equipment will enhance your customer satisfaction and will ensure your revenue stream. Many times your asset is at the customer location (or moving if it is a truck or a crane) and management of such assets is more complicated. OnTrack solution leverages GPS/Wireless/GRIS to pin-point the location of an asset. It is also receives up to 10 digital and 10 analog signals real time (such as speed of the vehicle, temperature of the motor, vibrations of a generation set) and transmits it to the server. An analytic engine runs on the data and is able to send near real-time alerts when it senses potential issues.
